چکیده

Abstract A new activated adsorbent was produced from the debris of Posidonia oceanica rhizomes (POR). POR were in acetic acid and utilized as an eco-adsorbent for removal cationic dye methylene blue (MB) saline solutions. The purified (PPOR) its form (APOR) characterized by elemental analysis, pH-metric titration, Fourier transformer infrared (FTIR), surface area measurements, which inferred a remarkable activation APOR. An enhancement free acidic sites confirmed. adsorption data obtained analyzed using Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin-Kaganer-Raduskavich (DKR), Redlich Peterson (RP) isotherm models. these models tested some error functions (residual root mean squares (RMSE), sum square (SSE), chi-square test ( X 2 ) function). Temkin model best fits experimental Kinetic evaluated pseudo-first-order (PFO), pseudo-second-order (PSO), intraparticle diffusion rate found to follow PSO with good correlation R = 0.999–1). suggested, endothermic, multilayer, combined electrostatic physical mechanism may be responsible MB water utilizing Adsorption is anticipated start chemisorption on active functional groups adsorbent’s followed physisorption subsequent layers through adsorbate–adsorbate interaction. process successfully applied MB-spiked brackish efficiencies 51.7–97.2%. results revealed that promising real high efficiencies.
